West Market Street United Methodist Church

Rev. David Melton, Sr. Pastor
West Market Street United Methodist Church offers ministries for persons of all ages and stages in life and faith development.
Spiritual formation for children takes place in the atria, a warm, welcoming environment where children learn that they are children of God and can have a special relationship with God through Christ and the Holy Spirit.
Youth learn with caring, committed adults what it means to live out one's faith in the world and how our faith intersects with life issues. They are engaged through mission opportunities to act on their faith through love of neighbor.
A variety of opportunities abound for adults to begin to learn about the Christian faith and to mature as followers of Christ. Whether it is serving the community on Pancake Day, working in a Habitat House, being part of a Bible study, visiting shut-ins, or singing in the choir, there is a place for everyone to serve and grow in faith.
Sandy Ridge United Methodist Church

Rev. Dr. Mary Miller, Pastor
We’re glad to have you as our guest. We are a family church and seek to be a beacon of light for Christ in our community. Come join the family! At Sandy Ridge you will find opportunities for personal and spiritual growth, along with meaningful ways to make a real difference in your community. You’ll be greeted into our home with warmth and embraced by a supportive extended family. We welcome all to come and be a part of the family known as the church. Our Sunday School begins at 9:45am and we have some excellent teachers especially with our children. Donuts, juice, and coffee are served between Sunday School and worship. Worship begins at 10:45am and goes until 12:00p.m. or until the Holy Spirit leads us. We are very open and flexible those who need healing during the services and have mature Christians ready to pray and anoint persons as they desire. Our specific call to healing ministry is with those battling substance abuse, and broken relationships. Our worship services are very upbeat and there is a lot of different kinds of music - a children's choir performs once a month (a children's handbell choir has recently been added this Spring), an adult choir, and a praise team performs every Sunday. Occasionally special music is offered with drums and electric guitars. The worship service is very informal and guests are welcome to attend in casual attire. Our pastor celebrates Holy Communion on the 1st Sundays of the month. Persons of all ages and denominations are welcome to participate in this sacramental meal. Children and adults are baptized upon request after they meet with the pastor.
We are also committed to being a Safe Sanctuary for all the children we serve. A nursery is available for the youngest children during worship. After a short Children’s Sermon, early in our worship service, the younger children are invited to leave the sanctuary for Children’s Church . We have a weekly Kids Club ministry for children in K-5th grades on Wednesday nights from 6:45-8:00p.m. A Bible Study is also held on Wednesdays for parents and other adults at 1:00p.m. and 6:45p.m.
Our true heart is offering the love and hope of Jesus Christ to others. We host a free dinner for neighbors in our community every Wednesday night at 6:00p.m. We also serve around 200 persons a meal as well as help distribute clothing and supplies at Ward Street Mission Church in High Point on the 4th Thursdays of the month from 4-7p.m. We are very involved with a four month substance abuse recovery program called Harvest Camp (sponsored by His Laboring Few), and help in their graduation services. Our UM Women meet once a month and help with local and global mission projects. Our UM Men meet the 1st Sundays of the month for breakfast at 8am and do local work projects to help others in the community. Once a year on Memorial Day Weekend, we host an outdoor Neighborfest (Saturday) and a Memorial Service (Sunday) for those who have been buried in the Sandy Ridge Community. Other times during the year we host outdoor events such as Trunk-or-Treat and a Live Nativity Scene at Christmas.
